About Us

The Center for Competitive Workforce Development (CCWD) is an economic and business development initiative administered by the Schools of Business at Duquesne University. CCWD conducts policy-oriented research on workforce development and economic development issues facing the Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania region.

  • WorQ for Educators is a new series of reports intended to provide teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators of primary and secondary schools systems information useful for making decisions and taking actions to improve what schools deliver in areas such as career guidance and workforce development.
  • WorQ for Policymakers is a new series of reports intended to provide useful information for decision making in workforce development.
  • The Manufacturing Cluster Job Vacancy Survey describes what occupations are most in-demand by manufacturers and estimates the number of job vacancies in the region's manufacturing cluster.
